12 YEAR OLD WITH EXCESSIVE BLINKING

MY 12 YEAR OLD SON WAS ON ADDERALL FOR THE PAST 6 YEARS.  THREE MONTHS AGO WE SWITCHED HIM TO VYVANCE 50 MG, THEN ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO WE PUT HIM ON 70 MG.  AFTER ABOUT ONE MONTH ON VYVANCE WE NOTICED EYE BLINKING.  WE TOOF HIM OFF OF THE MEDICINE AND HE HAS BEEN OFF FOR ABOUT 1 1/2 WEEKS NOW.  HE STILL HAS THE EYE BLINKING.  WE NEVER NOTICED THIS WITH ADDERALL.  HE ALSO TAKES CLONIDINE, LEXAPRO, SULFSALIZNE FOR COLITIS AND HE GETS ALLERGYSHOTS AND TAKE LORATIDINE FOR ALLERGIES.  HELP PLEASE,  WILL THIS GO AWAY COULD THIS BE A START OF TOURETTES I AM SCARED AND HE IS TIRED OF BEING ON MEDICINE AND WE ARE TRYING SO HARD TO GET THROUGH THIS WITHOUT MAKING A BIG DEAL ABOUT IT ESPECIALLY WITH HIM IN SCHOOL.

Wow..he is on a lot of medication. I would be concerned about interactions too. My son took Vyvance for several months and also had a lot of eye blinking. We switched him to Focalin and the blinking stopped. Recently though he has begun having seizures...not sure if they related to either medication or if they are an independent problem. We see the neurologist tomorrow....hopefully we will find out more then. Does anyone know more about the seizures mentioned in the side effects of both Vyvance and Focalin XR? I can't find much info on these seizures...just that they can be a possible serious side effect.

He is on a lot of medications.  Talk to your doctor about interactions and see if seizures can be ruled out.  I hope he gets better.
