2 Year old with extreme leg/foot pain.

My son is now 2 years old. When he was about 1 we noticed there were certain times that he would not put any pressure on either one of his feet and would scream for maybe 10-15 minutes and it would occur maybe once a month.. We always thought maybe it was pins and needles fro the way he was sitting or laying. In August of 2008 ( he was about 1 1/2) we noticed it was getting much worse. It got to the point where he would scream for about 1 hour and put no pressure on it at all. We thought it was his legs. In December 2008 when he would have thesepisodes, now usually 3-4 times a week, he would grab his feet. It will occur usually late in the evening(around 6pm) and wakes him up in the middle of the night.

Our pediatric doctor feels that this is not growing pains. He said growing pains would not wake him in the middle of the night, would not stop him from walking, and the way he screams is not normal for growing pains. We finally caught an episode on video and showed to doctor. That was when we were finallt taked serious. We were referred to
an Orthopedic Doctor. She ran blood tests and did a bone scan. Everything came back normal. In January of 2009 we went to a Neurologist who did more blood testing which came back normal. We have an MRI scheduled of the lower spine to see if there are any spinal injuries.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. It is very upseting to see your 2 year old in extreme pain and not know what to do for him.
