20 month old 99.1 temp

20 month old 99.1 temp

I have a 20 month old son who alays has a 99.1 temp. He never acts sick. Could this be normal?

The typical 98.6 body temperature you hear of is just an average.  There is actually a range of normal body temperatures.  99.1 definitely fits into this range.  Your son obviously just runs a bit higher than normal - my daughter is the same way (and I run lower - 98.0).  No need to worry since he doesn't appear sick at all.  Plus, temperature changes depending on activity, diet, etc.  There really isn't a need to be watchful over a temperature under 100.

Also, temps change depending on the time of day (in other words, how long the person has been awake).  99.1 is your child's "normal."  The only thing to do is be sure his doctor knows that, so there won't be any confusion if your son presents with an ailment and they think his temp is "slightly elevated" when you know it to be normal for him.
