5 year old having recurrent bladder infections

Hello, my daughter has been battling bladder infections for almost 2 years now.  Within weeks of finishing treatment she gets another one.  We have had an ultrasound and VUR done over the summer and there was nothing significant other than scarring, which I was told was nothing to worry about and when I brought it up at the last doctor appointment she said we'd discuss our "options" at the next visit :( !!!  I'm so worried about what this is doing to her urinary system I'm ready to SCREAM.  She does have problems with constipation (comes and goes) and I know this can be a common cause, but even when she's not constipated she's still getting them.  Any advice from mom's out there who have been in the same situation?  What has been your experience with it and were you ever able to get straight answers and solutions?  I feel that her doctor is just treating the infection and not getting to the cause...She has to wear a diaper at night because she can't control her bladder.  Can scar tissue cause repeated infections and what can they do to fix it?  What about her kidneys???  They have not run any tests to check her kidney function, is this normal?  Thanks for your answers...
