7-old boy suddenly begins bed wetting

My son had NEVER had an issues with bed wetting.  Even when he potty-trained at 2 1/2, he trained immediately at night as well and never had any accidents until earlier this year after he turned 7 in April.  He is an extremely sound sleeper and when he had that issue, he'd gone to bed around 9 pm.  I went in at 10:30 to tuk him in again as usual and as I bent down to kiss him, I noticed the bed was soaked.  My husband and I got him up, gave him a shower, changed his bed, conversed with him, etc. - only thing was he was asleep through the entire thing.  He didn't remember ANYTHING the next day.  There were no more incidents until this past Friday night - 10/12.  But, he'd fallen asleep downstairs and we'd carried up to bed so we assumed he just didn't get a chance to go the "last" time of the night.  Again, he wet during the first 3 hours of the night.  He wet again last night, though.  He went to bed at 8:30, I tucked him in again around 10:30 and there was no problem.  When he got up at 7 this morning for school, I was groggy and didn't pay much attention to where he was sleeping (at the foot of the bed instead of his normal position last night - he likes to sleep there, so I guess I just didn't pay much attention).  I left the room and he got dressed and went to school as usual.  I went in to get some laundry out of his basket and noticed his wet pj's from last night - he must have gotten up and changed during the night.  His bed was also wet and he simply covered it up with his comforter - it was not wet.  I don't know at this point if he knows he wet last night or not.  He may have gotten up, changed and gone back to bed without really being concious of it.  However, since he's never had any history of bed wetting, I am concerned.  Is a visit to my doctor warrented?  On a side note, I've had some sort of UTI for about 6 weeks - it was treated with antibiotics, pure cranberry juice and cranberry capsules - an entire bottle, but still has not completely cleared.  Is this some infection I may have inadvertently passed to my son?

I would take him to the doctors immediately.  It is very odd that he never had this problem before and start this at 7 years old.  Has there been any change around the house that could upset him.
