8 years defecating in pants only at certain times of day

I have poured over the threads that are already on here about children with this problem and the single theme that seems to link them all is the one thing that is missing for my son. He only has accidents at home. Never at school, never out in a public places, only at home and almost exclusively at bedtime. He refuses to attempt to use the toilet near bed time and will wait until he is in bed to poop. I am at the end of my rope. We have tried not making a big deal out of it, we have tried rewarding and punishing. nothing seems to help.

im not suggesting this, but i have heard children that use the bathroom on themselves, that know better, may be being ' sexually violated'.....the odds in a stranger doing this to the odds of a family member or family friend....is lower than a family member doing it! nobody wants to hear this i know and i hope to God this is not your case but its a thought i'd like to throw out there....sorry if i make you mad....just is the first thing that came to mind.
