8-yr Old Bed Wetter

8-yr Old Bed Wetter

What can be done to get my granddaughter to get up at night to go to the bathroom.  She has large tonsils and a very hard sleeper.  Bed wetting is getting more frequent.  When she was 3 years old, she came out of pullups at night because she got up often during the night to go to the bathroom.  I'm at my wits end because this is totally a problem that needs to be corrected before she gets any older.

It can be very frustating having a bedwetter. You need to see your doctor adn ask for a urologist. Girls do not wet as common as boys do, but they usally wet until an older age. Unfortunately my daughter is 14 and still wets. I have done many tests and finally was referred to an urologist. They have so much insight. My daughter has problems during the day, she has to go way to often.  She struggles with constipation. I finally learned that I cant look into night time problems until day time problems are solved. I am a mother of 7 and my oldest 5 all have wet the bed. Two of my kids just outgrew the situation by 8, but others are taking a bit longer. I am going to get the alarms at the bedwetting store I have heard they are super. Best of luck and know that its not your childs fault and you are not alone!
