9 yo w/breast lump for 1 year, pink, puffy aereola

by kittersue, Mar 15, 2009 08:51PM
My 9 year old daughter has had a lump under one breast for about a year now.  I just noticed the aereola is much pinker and puffier than the other breast where there is no lump.  I'm not sure if the lump is bigger although I think it is.  I am a BRCA2 carrier diagnosed with breast cancer at age 29.  A year ago the pediatrician said it was probably nothing, but now I want a definitive diagnosis.  What test could be given to my daughter (MRI? ultrasound?) to facilitate a diagnosis and should I take her to see my adult breast cancer doctor?  FYI, she has no signs of puberty yet.
