Hey whose house is it, who does the shopping, some noodles wont hurt him, not many sweets ,let him have one or two as an incentive after a ball game or a run, do you like jogging, take him out with you run around the block a few times , Yes his pals indeed may use that language, what about TV have you control on what he watches ? and of course the computer. He can have some chips get the low fat kind and limit how many.,the eating is in your hands Work with him let him say what he likes in the way of fruits, veg, nuts ,fill the fridge with healthy foods it may be good for all the family, does his Dad and you have any weight gain ?.Good Luck you can do it, give him some incentives to make a start on a change ..
Thanx dear friend, for your helpful reply. He loves eating noodles, chips, sweets etc. And me being a working mother, its quite difficult keeping him on check. Anyways, will try. As for the language issue, none of us ever use such words. Maybe he's picking them up from his carpool friends. He takes no meds. Any more inputs, please send them. They would be welcome.
hi Mumun well the TV and lack of exercise is within your realm to sort out, make sure the food you get in is heathy food, some great snacks that wont pile on weight out there, take him shopping tell him to look for what he would like, only say its in the Nuts/fruits/veg/ range even a good trail mix can be healthy and there are low fat chips and snacks out there . No TV till he has played some games as the weather gets better , outside stuff get him a basket ball hoop set up , get Dad playing ball games . He needs incentive , thats where parents come in .As for abusive language does anyone else in the house swear has he any older siblings, whats his dads language like or yours?Does he take any meds ?lastly get him onto a supplement VitC and BComplex also Fish oil..good luck
