Athletes Foot

My  grandson 4 years old and had atheletes foot a few weeks ago, the doctor put him on some pills and cream, his feet were looking better, we took him to the er last night and the doctor there said he has never seen a severe case like that for 20 something years,  she said that its a bad infection, and gave him several meds, he is in danger of losing his foot and pinkie toe, the pinkie toe is seperating from his other toes and his entire left foot is swollen and red, now today his toes are bleeding and there is yellow pus coming from his toes and he is puking.. what should we do? Could it be staph?

Sounds like it could be MRSA.  Is he currently in the hospital for this infection?  Sounds scary - best wishes and prayers.
