Baby swollen feet

My 6 month old son was wearing shoes with elastic around the ankles and when I took them off, his feet were swollen. This hasn't happened before with same shoes. One of his lower legs is also swollen. He hasn't been wearing the shoes for over two hours and they are still swollen. We put them in ice water, and then a warm bath. I also gave him allergy medicine. Any ideas or suggestions?

Were they tight on his feet , it could be an allergy so giving him a med may be the right way ,if it continues take him to see the Doctor for an opinion .babies of 6 months don't need shoes really, socks may be enough .or nothing when its warm.Good Luck
