Child pulse rate

Child had her tonsils out yesterday but her pulse rate is now 158 she is 3 is this normal

Its always good to ask when you are concerned .let us know the outcome .

She is on day 2 after her operation and pulse is going between 140 and 166, 140 was when she was sleeping and 166 she had some pain. She is not running a temp. Think I will call the doctor today thanks.

The normal rate is 70-110 beats per minute, so 158 is higher,make sure you took it correctly . but as she has had her tonsils out that is more than likely the reason,has she a fever . If you feel concerned and shes feeling worse a visit to the Doctor will put your mind at rest
