Diaper Rash

by CAOSue, Sep 19, 2007 01:45PM
My son is 9 mths old. He recently had severe diaper rash, this then led to a Staph infection in the groin area.  He is on a Rx cream and Rx antiobiotics for this and its clearing up the sores perfectly.  My question is, Just before this Staph started he was scratching his testicles and still is.  It doesn't seem normal to grab and yank like this and is doing it as soon as I start changing him.  It isn't a yeast infection and the Staph (according to the Dr) doesn't cause itching.  He has been on the cream and antiobiotics for 1 weeks were the itching started about 4 days earlier.  I also tried Tnactin AF as well and that didn't work. There is No swelling but is reddish in color after he scratches. Do you have any suggestions what I should do?  Thanks!

my son had the same problem when he was about 10 months old....instead of using the perscribed ointment i made a trip to my local pharmacy and got diaper rash cream called bourdaux butt paste...it worked wonders for my son and he hasn't had diaper rash in 5 months.
