It's not a great idea to try to reduce a fever in a baby.  Fevers do the body good, by making it too warm for the virus to survive.  Only if the baby reaches 106 degrees does my pediatrician recommend giving anything to knock the fever down.  Especially the cool-bath thing is not recommended, I can't recall why, maybe it can give the child chills.

I agree with Annie , the fever will pass and if he seems worse get him checked out .
