Have you tried the fever-all suppository? I know its horrible to hold your child down and force them to take medicine so when my son was little my Dr suggested I try them and they work great! You can get them over the counter..just a suggestion.. I hope your little one feels better soon

Have you tried holding his nose while its in his mouth? My MIL does that with my nephew since he is super difficult. Don't hold it for long though just long enough for him to have to swallow it.

You're welcome. I know it doesn't make you feel better though. But your baby appreciates everything you do, even though they can't show it. =) My son tricks me now..I think he swallowed it so I let go of his face and he spits it out..like really? Lol

Let him hold his sippy cup with juice or water. Tell him after he swallows it, he'll be able to drink to get the taste out of his mouth. Maybe that'll help?

I completely understand how you feel. My 4 year old son is just under the autism spectrum so there are some things that he just can't do. Like taking medicine. I literally have to sit on him, hold his arms down under my legs, pry his mouth open, and shove the syringe of meds down his throat and make him gag it down. He cries SO hard and I cry even harder. I hate it more than anything. Just thinking about it makes me cry. And he doesn't understand why..that's what really hurts. But we are not bad mothers. We are freaking awesome. It takes alot of skill and patience to do what we do. I'm proud of you!

You can also try a wet washcloth under armpits that helps to bring fever down.

Have you tried putting it on the side of his mouth like cheek? That's what I did for my daughter she would fight me but wouldn't gag!

I don't already have kids just yet but you're actually doing your job as a mom. Don't feel crappy. Feel crappy when you've waited it out and he gets a high fever and it erupts a nerve and he becomes ... Well... Slow. Like.. Down syndrome. But good job.
