Grandson's Ribs

by GrammyG5522, Apr 24, 2009 02:08PM
My 2yr old grandson has ribs the stick out. When you run your hands down is chest you can feel that the sturnum is indented and that the botom ribs flair out to the front. His pediatrition has not said anything about thie to our daughter. But I'm concerned. It is very noticeable when he in on his back and yawns. They stick straight up almost 2" above the top ribs.

If there aren't any medical complications that it is causing or anything, I don't see any reason to be concerned. Everyone is shaped differently. And to "fix" this, I think he'd have to go through some pretty intense surgery, which you really wouldn't want to put a child through.
