HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by jobean10207, Nov 25, 2008 08:39AM
i have another question regarding the blue lips. it seems like when his lips have a little bluish tint to them, they are always cold. his hands and feet are always cold as well. yesterday his lips turned blluish when we came bak home from being gone and it is cold outside. i have done quite a bit of research, heart problems, anemia, asthma. . .first of all if he had something extremely serious, wouldn't his lips just kind of stay blue? or wouldn't it happen more often than it does? he will run around and play and then his lips go back to normal. hes 13 months old by the way. and since hes so young, if he had a heart problem wouldn't they have caught it when they did all his tests and stuff when he was born? i am really trying not to freak out about this because i am a very paranoid mother anyways and rush him to the doctor over every little thing. so, i can just imagine what she is going to say if i have him back there yet again. this is only something that has happened a couple times so far. i mean wouldn't something more serious have shown up awhile ago? his breathing is always ok his chest never sinks far in like he is having problems breathing, i press on his chest and the mark goes away like it should, which his doctor told me to check for anytime he was sick at all. so wouldn't that mean his oxygen levels are ok? i just need some advice i guess. im kind of at a loss not sure what to do.

Hi, my daughter has the same thing she is 2 next week and has has the blue/purple colour in her lips on and off since she was about 13 months. I took he to the docs and he listened to her heart said it was fine and that was it. They do not seem overly concerned. She is happy and otherwise healthy just like your little one. I have a feeling it maybe circulation as she gets mottled skin too as if she was freezing, but isn't. Still...I really hope someone comes up with an answer here as I would be interested to know if I should take her back to the docs for more checks. Sorry not to be of any help.

i know you just wnt answrs and want to know whats going on. i am definately concerned, but he is very healthy otherwise, and it doesn't seem to bother him. i am not sure. as much as his heart has been listened to, (many doc appointments because i am an overly paranoid mother) i would thnk if there was a problem they would let me know. sometimes i wonder if it is jus the lighting in the house but then going into a different room they still kinda look blue. i don't know, i am at a loss here. if anyone else has ny info it would be greatly appreciated. and thank you for your response its good to hear im not the only one out there!
