Inconsistency in feeding

My daughter is 7 weeks old and is very inconsistent with her formula feed. At one feed she takes in about 90 ml and the next she takes in 30 ml... is this inconsistency normal? she normally feeds after 2-3hrs. I thought that by now all her feeds should have been 90ml or more ....pls advice.

Thank you so much it actually does make sense... :), I will try spacing out her feeding time to 3 to 3 and a half hours.

Hi there.  You may be feeding her too often as she gets older.  As newborns turn into infants, they can go a bit longer between feeding.  Their little tummies grow and can hold more.  So if she eats 90 ml, and the next feeding only 30 ml------  she'd probably have eaten the entire 90 ml if it had been spaced a little farther out.  Does that make sense?  I really did on demand feeding but found that my babies did go for longer stretches as they got older week to week.  Maybe stetch her feeding time out to every 3 to 3 and a half hours instead of every 2 to 3.

good luck and enjoy your baby.  They are wonderful!!
