Laryngomalacia? Noisy breathing in Baby

Laryngomalacia? Noisy breathing in Baby

My son is 10 weeks old and since 3 weeks old he has made noises when he sleeps  that sound like he has "stuff" in the back of his throat as though he needs to clear it,  And sometimes, when he is sucking a bottle especially, he makes a sharp intake of breath like a gasp.  The ENT has diagnosed him with larynomalacia - floppy cartilage around the larynx - and that it will toughen with age.  However we are going to a pediatric ENT bc the ENT wants to confirm that a surgical procedure is not necessary.  Has anyone had experience with this?  And if so, when did your child "outgrow" it?
