Red marks on my toddlers spine

Tonight, I was changing my daughter into her PJ's and noticed red marks along her spine.  There are three red marks that look as if her spine had pressed into her back, leaving red marks....  She didn't seem sensitive when I touched them, and they did not seem raised - almost like red bruises...

Can anyone tell me what this might be?  I've never seen anything like it.

Thank you in advance for any help!
Amy

My 2 year old son has the same thing. They seem to be like pressure sores, almost perfectly round little red spots on three or four knobs of his spine. I'm thinking it's from his car seat. He's 30 pounds and scrawny, still rear facing and I only notice it when he's been in his car seat in my car (not in my husband's or sister's who babysits him).

Sort of... but, there are no scratches or marrs to the skin, so it concerned me a great deal last night.  This morning, it has already faded, making me believe it was just bruising and no one noticed it at the time she must've fallen during the day yesterday (She stays with Grandma during the day while I work).

Thank you & God Bless!

Does it look like she fell on her back,  or fell backwards into a hard chair,  and there are bruises where her spinal bones compressed the skin?
