Should we consider hormone therapy for tall 10 year old son?

My 10 year old son is 5'8" tall and we are going to see a pediatric endo in a few weeks.  Our ped had mentioned aromatase inhibitors or GNRH analogue(?).  He had a bone age scan at 10.2 and the results were 12.6 years.  We are all tall but he seems to be developing sooner and he's the oldest of 2 boys.  My wife has an identical twin with adult sons that are 6'6", 6'5" and 6'3".  I'm hesitant to have injections and such.  He is also autistic (high functioning) and that makes medical treatments quite a task sometime.  Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks!
