Super Glue on Hair and Scalp

My son got his hands on some Super Glue and got a very large area of his hair covered in it. So now it is matted down and his hair is stuck to his scalp. They was a small spot that I was able to rip away, basically like a eyebrow waxing job. But this area is much larger. Any ideas what to do, we have tried to break up the glue with nail polish, conditioner, and Rubbing Alcohol, but nothing is loosening this up. I'm assuming the hair wont grow and loosen this up? Will this affect his hair folicles, for being on there for a length of time?
Thanks

You might also call a hairdresser or Sally's Beauty Supply and see if they have any super-glue debonding product made for hair.  I've heard that just saturating everything in petroleum jelly and then combing can work, but it would take some patience.

The hair will still grow, and it's possible that the oils on the scalp and the natural shedding of skin cells that are under the super glue will cause the chunk of glue to lift off sooner than even the hair grows.

Go online and look up "how to get Superglue off skin," too.
