My 8 year old daughter has a sweet smelling maple syrup odor. We took her to the Doctor and they said all her blood test came back and said she did not have diabetes.or thyroid. What else could this be?
This is from another website: "Metabolic disorders can cause unusual body odors. The
best known of these disorders are: trimethylaminuria, maple syrup urine disease (both of which are rare), and ketoacidosis (which is rather common)."
I'd push the doctor to keep trying to figure it out. Maple syrup urine disease can be dangerous.
