TIPS ON DIAPER RASH

I have a son who is experiencing Diaper Rash any tips!

Try Desetin. It works great for my son. Although if the rash is also on th epenis you should use A&D ointment. Desetin works well on the but, skin and creases. A&D works well on the penis itself. If it is a yeast diaper rash, in other words if those two things do not work, you will probably have to see your pediatrician for a nystatin prescription.

How bad is the rash? If it is from diarrhea then what works best is Mylanta with a layer of petroleum jelly on top. I know it sounds strange, but the Mylanta is helps with the acid in the LOs poop.

A wonder that works fantastic is Magic Butt Cream (we got it when my LO was in the hospital). You have to have a prescription, but it is worth going in if you can get it.

Diaper rashes are often an indication of yeast.  If this is the case, a sitzbath in plain yogurt will definitely help.  Make sure that it is unsweetened yogurt with LIVE culture.  It is easy to do, your baby will love it because it is very tactile, when he/she is finished simply rinse with warm water.
