Thyroid problem yes or no

I'm a foster parent for a 7 y/o child.  according to last physcial she is about 30 lbs overweight.  all of her weight is in her belly.  she is also dx with adhd.  There was something in her health records to indictate a possible problem with thyroid in the past and no follow up.  I had her dr. do a thyrid panel on her and the results were t3 uptake 28, thyroxine 8.2, fti 2.3 and tsh 8.31.  which the lab marked as high.  when I called the dr's office they said the doctor said verything was within normal limits.  The child is always hunrgy and thirsty, always tired, c/o frequent headaches,  urinates often.  what should I do.  Does she have a problem or not?  Please help!

If the Doctor after tests said no then I would go with that and look for other problems like is she happy, how is she doing at school ..does she get on well with other members of the foster family ?

If a child is always thirsty, hungry and urinating often & would be uneasy also.  And constant headaches? She is 30 lbs overweight which is a lot for a 7 yr old.  I used to foster teen & pre teen girls so I know that with foster kids you do not always know the situation that the child is coming from.  You could go for a second opinion.  Has she had a full physical recently?  With full bloodwork?  Checking for insulin resistance - pre diabetic?  I agree with the fact it could be something else going on (school, bullying, etc) but I would check out everything.   I hope you and her do well and good on you for trying to get to the bottom of this!
