Temps are not necessarily the case with a virus. My little guy didn't have one at all. However, it is true that the vomiting was at different times, not necessarily just at night. As for the 3 weeks..yep. Some virus' can last a very very long time, particularly with those developing immune systems. I was off work with my little guy for the better part of a month, and he had after affects for almost 9 months.
It really was just a guess. It's so frustrating isn't it when our little one's aren't well. It's good your exploring it, and I have no doubt you'll have your answers soon. I wish you the best.
I imagine a virus would be vomiting during the day and maybe a temp? Also would it go on for 3 weeks? Doc has not mentioned testing anything, just referred us to childrens hospital. Don't know how long we will have to wait on that. If he gets any worse we are going to take him to a&e
It's good your having this explored. My son had something similar when he was 13 months old. It went on for ages and it turned out to be rota virus. We really couldnt do much except try to manage it...lots of liquids for hydration, etc. It eventually ran it's course, but it sure scared me at the time. The differences between what you describe and what my son had is that there was no time of day where it was more prevelant. Still, maybe ask your Dr. to test a stool sample. It's non evasive, so no discomfort for the child, but it gave us the answers we needed.
Best of luck to you and I hope your little one is back to normal soon.
Thanks for the reply. He vomits during the night, not in the morning. He has a bottle of milk in the morning with no vomiting. He vomits undigested food at night, not just his dinner, but sometimes his breakfast.
It could be gastroenteritis as is sounds food related ..he vomits during the night then in the morning? I am also wondering if its an allergy to milk, does he drink a bottle of milk before he throws up?
