What does +4.75 vision mean?

my daughter's eye vision changed from +2.50 to +4.75 (both eyes) I know there is a - on one of the eyes but was not given the Rx to know in what degree or if axis or cylinder..

My question is what does +4.75 actually mean.. and this decrease in eye sight is in just a 3.5 month cycle.. will she plateau, or keep getting worse to the point of blindness?

I thought it was near sighted ..but I think you would get a better answer if you go the eye care forum where there is an eye expert /doctor   good luck
