I had to wake one of my sons up every 2 hours per doctor advice for helping him gain weight.  That was a bit rough at nighttime.  I did try my very best to keep baby away and feeding often throughout the day with the hopes of longer stretches of sleep during the night with my other kiddos.

I disagree. Waking them up is perfectly fine. To each there own though.

Babies will put themselves on their own schedual, making them eat at certian times such as when they aren't hungry or when they are and you make them wait isn't a good thing to do. They will do it themselves

My daughter did that the first couple days. I was told to unwrap her so she wouldn't be so sleepy and if that didn't work to tickle her feetand rub her with a baby wipe

It won't hurt her if you want to wake her up to eat. I got worried to and would wake mine up. They were perfectly fine getting a bottle.

Never, ever, ever, never wake a sleeping baby, she will wake when she is hungry, swear by it. As long as she is breathing and sleeping normally with no fever she is fine
