blood tests and white cells

my nephew had blood test last week because he always looks pale and tired so they said it is probably his iron,his results are back and they are fine but they want to speak to my sister about his white cells,now i know this can be nothing but can also be serious,my question is would normal iron blood test reveal the worst if he had anything bad.

I would think it would reveal if he was anemic white cells can be low when there's an infection present has he had a cold/ stomach bug a lot going round this time of year .

he has been unwell on and off for months,and it takes him ages to recover,his test for iron and anemic have come back clear.

Is he taking  a good supplement. antioxidants..VitC and Vit BComplex also Fish oil... build up his immune system ...
