my 11 year old daughter is losing her eyebrows.  what would be causing this
Avatar_dr_f_tn
Hi!
Hair loss from eyebrow can be due to generalized alopecia, seborrhagic dermatitis, cancers, SLE or lupus, syphilis, leprosy and heavy metal or vitamin toxicity.  If no cause is found then it could be an autoimmune phenomenon where the body's immune system mistakenly thinks that the hair follicle is bacteria and tries to protect the body from it by attacking it. The commonest autoimmune disorder affecting hair loss from eyebrow is Hashimoto’s thyroidits. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Take care!
