chronic fever and chronic pneumonia

My 2 1/2 year old son has had high fevers on and off for the last 6 weeks and has pneumonia that wont go away and has gotten worse. What could cause this?

poor child ..what has the doctor to say what medications is he on , I am assuming this is bacterial pneumonia so he will be on anti biotics ,drinking plenty of fluids ,intravenously if necessary. You ask the cause it can be spread from person to person, fungal infection, trauma ...Can you give us more information regarding his health ..
