dark patches of hair on fair child???

HI, my 4 year old son has strawberry blonde hair with dark dirty blond patches in it. he has about 5 patches that are about 2-3 inches and irregularly shaped but the texture and thickness of the hair is the same all over his head and the patches have been about the same size since he was a year old. the skin under the hair is the same colour as the surrounding skin. he is a healthey child, though he is thin and suffered from severe exzema (eczema) from about a month old untill he was 3 and still has very dry skin all winter. he eats fairly well, but as he is a busy boy he sometimes doesn't eat as well as he should. I have 2 other children and my youngest (2.5 years old) seems as though she may be "growing in" the same dark spots, but her hair is white blonde and it loks as though she has dirty blonde roots in a fairly large patch at the back of her head. is this something i should be worried about? is it common for people to have patches of different coloured hair? it is quite obvious on my son and people do occationally comment about it. I appreciate any info as i haven't found anything on the internet about it. thanks

my brother has dark almost black hair and he has patches of blonde in his and nothin is irregular we think its a birthmark but doesnt bother him hes seven now so i dont htink u shd worry to much
