eye blinking

My son is two and half years old. Yesterday I noticed that he was blinking both his eyes. Today his teacher at school pointed it out to me and thats when I got worried. I did call his doctor who told me that it was just a "tic" which will go away with time. When i googled "eye blinking", it scared me because I feel there might be something more to it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My son has tics and your doctor should give you more info than that...It might not go away. My son is 11 and he started w/ the eye blinking at the age of 8. It took a while for the us to find out what the problem was. Of course we thought he needed glasses. This is very serious and should not be shrugged off as a tic and it will go away...

My son has stopped blinking his eyes. But i'm still worried that it may come back. Any advice in that ? Is there anything as a transient "tic"

my grand-son started repeatedly "blinking" both his eyes repeatedly for no reason 2 days ago. he says they dont hurt or anything, but he has suffered from styes since he was born!
