newborn breathing trouble? help!

its now.5.30am and ive been up all night watching over my bub. Hes 4 weeks old and seems to have a blocked nose. Hes having having trouble breathing and cant really eat without pulling away and trying to catch his breath. Should i be worried. He did finish his last feed but it was a long slow process and he is sleeping but his breathing is heavy and he keeps squirming when hes not getting enough.oxygen. Help! I just want to make my poornlittle man better :(

Didn't they give u that pump for he's nose at the hospital u can also buy it at target.

U can also go to ur local walmart or dollar store and buy what i call a booger sucker lol....im suprised they didnt give u one at the hospital

Def take him to the doc they may suggest a breathing treatment which is harmless to him....but it will open him right up......

I dont know how to suction his nose and dont have anything.to do it with. His nose isnt runny at all and i cant see any boogers i can just hear its blocked badly. Have tried the steam and it didnt seem to help :( and unfortunatley i wasnt able to breastfeed so that ***** i cant try that.

If it were me I would suction his nose often. Let him sleep in his car seat so the mucus doesn't pool. Also to help loosen the mucus take him in a steaming bathroom for about 5 to 10mins. If you are breastfeeding your milk will be better to use than the nasal spray. Just do your best to keep his head up right for now so that the mucus won't pool. My little boy had a cold around that age and those were the steps I took to help ease the discomfort until it passed. Most colds are harmless and viral. So you have to wait them out. At his age no medicine can be given. For just in case take him to the doctor to have his lungs checked.
