nocturnal vomiting following gastroenteritis

6 days ago my 3 year old son came down with what appeared to be gastroenteritis. He had vomiting and diarrhea for about 24 hours that was taken care of with Phenergan suppositories. He was fine for the next two days with no vomiting or diarrhea, but did have a decreased appetite. The next night he vomited four times during the night and seemed to do okay that next day other than being sleepy and taking a long nap. Yesterday he had a good day. He had a good day today, but was not hungry during supper. Then this evening he has started vomiting again. The vomiting only seems to be happening during the night. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
