ocean swimming vaginal burning - 10 yr old

by mannranch, Sep 15, 2009 08:11AM
Every time my daughter swims in the ocean she complains of vaginal burning. She also complains of intermittent vaginal burning when she wipes after urinating. I am a nurse and have asked all the questions I can think of - it does not burn when she pee's - there is no discharge - it is definitely her vaginal area and not her urinary tract  - no fever or other symptoms. I HATE to take her to the doctor because it would be pretty traumatic for her to have a vaginal exam at her age. I've heard that some people can get there pH level out of balance - could this be it?
