Yes I echo what laci has said very often Mom's do forget that certain foods can be in their breast milk and very often does upset a babies tum..I knew a mom who drank plenty of apple juice thinking it was healthy her baby had consistent diarreha till she realised it was what she was drinking.

To add to margypops comment: if you are breast feeding, you could try taking some peppermint tea yourself and then the baby would get the right amount she needs through your breast milk.  Also, try and mind what you are eating and watch to see if different things you eat are causing more problems than others for her. (again that is if you are breast feeding)

I suspect what your mom means is gripe water it is pepperminty they do sell this kind of thing especially formulated for babies and it does help with cholic. however I would run it by the doctor first.  Your mom knows what she is talking about. Is the baby breast fed, as  she may settle down as she gets older and feeds more , make sure she burps in between feeding .good luck .

sound like it could be GER and then she would need to be on medication you should look up the symptoms and see if they sound like your baby but i agree with laci25 you should never give a young baby especially one that has stopped eating anything without talking to her doctor first and all doctors have emergency numbers for after hours i suggest that you use it

I think you need to talk to her dr first!  Even though there is nothing extra in it, it could still be too strong and too much for her little body!  I personally have never heard of anyone giving a baby peppermint so I truly don't know the answer to that but being that she is still so young, please talk to her dr first!  It could possibly cause more tummy problems instead of helping the ones she currently has!  Good luck and I hope you find your answer!
