potty training reversion

my 3 1/2 year old has been completely potty trained for 7 months now. he has never really had accidents, except occasionally at night. about 3 weeks ago, he started pooping in his pants every day. i don't know what to do to get him to stop. i've tried to take things away from him or try to tell him it's an accident, but nothing works. he just says he doesn't want to poop on the potty anymore. can anyone help me, and tell me the right thing to do?

Disciplining usually doesn't work with potty.  Praise is the best answer. Did he have a hard bm??  Alot of times when kids are "newly trained"  if they have a hard bm it can cause some fear.  They think it might hurt again.  The only solution for this, if bowels seem normal now.  Give him alot of support.  My dd has done this and I've had to sit in the bathroom with her giving encouragement and holding her hand.

Other things I've heard but never tried...Giving them a "magic" pooping wand that keeps the pain at bay.  And also if they are constipated bowels will come out a little bit at a time, sometimes without their control.  And trying a reward system for everytime they have a bm in the toilet...
