swollen, hard lymph node in toddler

I brought my daughter to the doctor almost 2 weeks ago with swollen lymph node under chin.  (hard and immovable over 3 cm.)  She ran fever for a whole week, reaching 104 every 3-4 hours.  She was put on 3 different antibiotics.  Then developed swollen gland on side of neck.  She is no longer running fever, so doctor says he will see her in 2 wks.  The gland is still hard and swollen, she is pale and sweats heavily at night.  CBC shows WBC at 24,000, twice what it should be. Low RBC, hemoglobin, and hemocrit.  High Neutrophils 80,000 and low lymphocytes 12,000.  She just doesn't look the same, and very tired and irritable.  Should we just wait it out?

Hey Brandy,

The symptoms your daughter is exhibiting  are that of an over-loaded waste removal system. So what must occur is a drastic reduction of intake of what her body cannot metabolize, or simply put, burn for energy.  You must remove all forms of man-made fats and sugars from her diet and increase her level of activity and water intake.  Buy a bag of fresh lemons  and make her an 8 oz. glass of lemonade (2 tablespoons  of fresh squeezed lemon juice and 8 oz of water sweetened with Stevia or unbleached sugar) each morning and evening,  insist that she drink it .   Then make sure she gets enough activity DAILY, so that she sweats. From your post, her body is producing a sweat on it's own. This non physically produced sweat, however, is from the fierce battle that is going on in her body to manage toxins.

This is a growing problem in our society as a whole, but alarmingly so in our kids.  We've got to make sure they are taking in real food and are physically active .

Anything with "partially hydrogenated", or "modified, " you pick the oil...  palm, coconut, cotton seed, peanut, sunflower….any of them, they shouldn't be ingested.  If they are preceded by "modified" or "partially hydrogenated", don't put it in your mouth or in the mouths of your precious kids. This is a man-made fat that the human body has no clue how to metabolize, it's unnatural.

The next man-made killer is "high fructose corn syrup" or HFCS.  This is a man-made sugar that is in seemingly everything. Again, the body doesn't know how to burn it so it follows the following protocol: Retain it in the liver or move it as far from vital organs as possible and deposit in fat reserves.  Can you guess where these areas are?  If you guessed the butt and belly, you're right. In some however, their body does an even better job  or quite frankly, has no choice and stores it in more remote fat deposits in the arms and legs. The only way this toxin- laced fat is removed from the body is through the lymph system. To do this effectively, however the lymph system needs plenty of good quality water and a reasonable level of activity or exercise. If it gets these two modest demands, it will carry these toxins to the kidneys or the skin surface through sweat.

These man-made fats and sugars combined with inactivity create a toxic, acidic environment in which cancer and other cells of malice thrive.

Start now and try to maintain a metabolic environment where your daughters body  can burn what it takes in and spends fewer cycles managing waste that it was never meant to manage.

This will help,

Steve

I thought the same thing.  This is the third time she has had swollen glands and fever with no diagnosis.  This time is more worrisome because the symptoms are more intense.  She is seeing an ENT that her pediatrician recommended.  I will call her ped. tomorrow and let her know what is going on.  My poor little girl told me she never wanted to take medicine again after having to take all those antibiotics and not to mention a full bottle of Tylenol and Motrin to keep fever at a reasonable temp.

Thank you for confirming what I already thought I should do.  I just wanted to make sure I wasn't acting like a crazy over-protective mom.

NO NO NO!!!!! no waiting and see. Find another doctor who will take a good look at your doughter with symptoms and run more tests. This is nothing I am sure but she needs to be checked out by Prdiatrcian/specialist and a good one who will not apply antbiotics right off the start and hope for the best. if he/she does not know what it is!!!! she/he is dealing with.. Why treat something with antibiotics if they don't have a clue why  she has symptoms like that. Her immune system is needed to fight whatever she is fighting and antibiotics are just supressing her immune system.
Some doctors have no CLUE what to do ...and write prescription to pretend they know.
Please find  other GOOD doctor who will take care of your precious doughter not poison her with unnecessary medication.
Sunes.
