vomiting with no obvious cause

I have a 3 year old who vomited a month ago. She had an episode on one day and then a week later another.  She may vomit one time or two times.  She just had another episode again.  She complains about her tummy hurting.  She then wants to go to sleep, but wakes up vomiting.  She has no fever, but gets very pale.  Is this normal for a child?  I am not sure that I have ever heard of a child vomiting and then going about there business.  Is there something I should be alarmed about?  Please help
