Thanks for all the details, makes it easier to see the full picture. I assume by a partial hysterectomy that you mean they left your ovaries in. The fullness sensation is extremely common with most types of POP (there are 5 types, women often have 2 or 3 types at the same time). The type/degree of pain varies quite a bit from woman to woman but women often have the stabbing vaginal pain so know that you are not imagining it! Loss of sexual sensation can be from either the pressure the displaced tissues are placing on the nerves in the area or from scar tissue and adhesions from prior surgery; often physicians have to cut through nerves to access repair location and it takes quite a bit of time for nerve tissue to heal properly; sometimes you get full sensation back, sometimes you don't. Personally I found that the location of sensation was different and it is also much harder to climax than it was before. I am over almost 2 years post surgery so the nerves are as healed as they are going to get but I do utlize myofascial release therapy when I have time to try and regain increased sensation as well as reduce restriction of pc contraction from scar tissue related to surgery. Did your gyn do any tests to see what the status of bladder function is? He sounds sure that bladder function is fine but I would want to know for sure prior to surgery so if it is even a little weak, it was addressed during the same surgery.

It could very well be that all you need fixed is rectocele and hemmy repair but it would be in your best interest to know for sure that is all that needs to be addressed prior to procedure. I would highly recommend you get a 2nd opinion from a urogyn if you are considering any additional surgery; they are the specialists for all POP procedures and I would think a urogyn would be able to address the hemmy issues too. Of course this is a very personal decision and if you have every confidence in your gyn then it is a judgement call, but I know many women who love their gyns and had them do POP surgery and had some problems-does not mean the dr is not a good dr, just means that the pelvic area is extremely intricate and it truly takes a specialist to get optimal results.

Good luck Keisha, keep me in the loop!

Sherrie thank you for the info i did go to the 2nd post and this is what i have come up with... 1 i had a partial hysterectomy  on Aug 6 2010..... because the OB said that i had a prolapse of the uterus and that there were other options but if i was done having children that it was a good option so we did it ..... however the reason that i went in to see him in the first place was that one day at work i felt some thing move inside of me and then there was a "fleshy mass" at the opening of my vagina ......after the Hysterectomy it was still there and the Dr. said that could be swelling and that i had to give it some time so that is what i did..... I went in and he then told me that it was not my bladder that was sitting in my vagina but that the tissue was so week that my rectum was pushing up into my vagina....... So now i have given you my full story this is what i came away with from your 2nd post the symptoms that i have Now are.....1 Vaginal fullness 2. some abdominal pain (people think i am crazy at work because i say that it feels like i am being stabbed down were my uterus was) 3. and i don't have the sexual sensation that i did just over a month ago (i don't get the hump moment any more and the feeling is not like it once was however i am still able to be aroused)........... I also have large hemorrhoids from the birth of my 2 beautiful girls and i am to go and see a general surgeon on Feb 15th 2011 to talk about the Hemorrhoidectomy that i would like to just get all out of the way at the same time ..... and yes this has all come from a pelvic exam.

Thank you so much for your time

A&P is anterior/posterior, indicating bladder and colon POP will be addressed (cyctocele and rectocele. Who is doing this procedure, your obgyn? I feel women should have this addressed by urogyn, they are the specialists for POP procedures (all 5 types) and you have the least risk of post-surgical complications when the surgeon doing the procedure is one well versed in the tissue intregity issues in the pelvic region. Since you don't feel you've had problems with  your bladder, what did your dr say the reason for doing bladder repair? I would press for more info. Has the gyn done any tests to determine what POP is occurring or is she basing this on pelvic exam? If it was me, I'd want more details b/4 I moved forward. What symptoms have you had? (If not sure what all the symptoms of POP are, take a look at the 2nd post on the forum, it goes into POP basics.)
