My mum who is 78 has been advised to have this op.If she does, will it have to be redone in a few years?

I would advise her to ask her doctor what his failure rate is.  Classic single side  Sacropinous ligament repair the 5 year failure rate is 16%.  The range of failure has been reported from 5 to 30% at 5 years.  J. Kyle Mathews, MD
