Ruling out heart problem

Hi

Three months bac, when i took ECG some T wave abnormalities were there.
Subsequently ECHO and Tread mill test was also taken and they were alright
Just to rule out the possiblity of any problems i went for CT
angiography and the result was that there is no block at all . By then i
had GERD and i did not treat it . After three months ( now ) my GERD gto
worsened ( i have never taken an endoscopy ) , so i got a UREA breath test
done and it was negative . GP precribed omeprezole 40 a tablet a day which
i am taking now. I at times have chest pain and burning sensation . In one
such incidents i felt tired and had palpitation so went to emergency and
there ECG was taken , TROP I test and CKMD test were done . Cardiologist
came and said that the ECG still has T wave abnormality as seen in my old
X ray , since we ruled out problem by CT angiography , nothing to worry
and the pain was not due to Heart . Even the TROP I test was 0.00 and CKMD
was 7 , so doctor said that its normal. But after that i have some other
instance of such chest pain and once i had mild pain in left hand also .
Now with the tests done is the risk with Heart problem is eliminated ? Is
it safe to assume that the pain is only because of GERD. I am 31 year old
male . I regularly exercise . I walk 20 - 30 min in tread mill at 6.5 km
/hr almost daily . This morning when i played tennis i felt tired and
after that i started having a discomfort in stomach and sometimes pain in
chest which NOT aggravating if walk ( i deliberately tried walking for
some distance ) . Please provide me advice on whether this pain is due to
Heart or GERD.

Hello
From your comments, its appears that you have had an extensive heart evaluation with normal ekg, echo, treadmill test, troponin and ct angio. If your symptoms persist and you do not attribute this to your reflux, consider a stress echo.

I would also suggest that you see a GI specialist to evaluate your reflux. Your symptoms seem quite advanced and you may require endoscopy to assess the efficacy of your therapy.

Good luck
