Nocturnal leg cramps

I am currently taking a 3 month prescription (15 mg & wean down) of prednisone for Polymyalgia Rheumatic (PMR).  I have been experiencing severe leg cramps at night in ankles, toes, legs.  The only relief is to get out of bed and walk around.  The next day my ankles ache from these cramps.  I am also taking actenol once a month while on the prednisone.  Could these cramps be a side effect of any of the above meds?  I am very active and walk 2 miles a day.  I also have idiopathic neuropathy.  Anything I could take to help eliminate these painful "charley horses?"  Thanks for any help anyone can give.
