similar to ms?

a couple of years ago my brother had several small "strokes" over a period of 3 to 5 days. he was 33.  since then he has had numbness in his right arm and hand where he can feel touch but not temp.  he didn't feel well this last w/e and went to the dr. fearing he had had another stroke.  he had an mri this week and was told he had spots on
his brain and an enlarged pituitary, that he has ms.  he went to the neurologist and he says he is not going to call
it, he wants to do a lot more tests, and he can't believe the dr. just called it like that.  i would like to know what other possibilities he could be looking at that have similar symptons.
