What can we do about a ripped off front foot pad. He is a stray but a sweet one. He must have done it chasing a car. The Vet gave us some spray for it and we thought it would heal over...but it hasn't. Its been about 3 months now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, LindaTX
It is unusual for a footpad to not heal, and there may be a bacterial or fungal infection, foreign body, immune mediated disease, or other disease preventing healing. I recommend that you have your dog rechecked by your veterinarian, and he may discuss biopsy and cultures, or referral to the veterinary dermatologist in Round Rock TX, Dr. Jenise C.
