medication went through wash/distribute to dog?

I got medication for my dogs inflammed 3rd eye lid. The medication just went through the wash because it was in a pocket of a robe, and the wash had had detergent and bleach. Thankfully the cap was on, is this safe to still adminster to my dog, since the cap was on?

If the cap was tightly screwed on, and if there is no exterior damage to the tube, then it is probably okay. I would squeeze out and discard the first 1" of the ointment to be safe, and also let the vet know who prescribed the medication to make sure it is okay with them.
