13 weeks and not sleeping through

Hi everyone my little boy is 13 weeks and still not sleeping through the night!! All my friends babies are!!!

Now here's the problem he's feeding every 4 hrs and can take anything from 4ozs to 7ozs per feed, he wakes up at 3am wanting fed and then doesn't feed again to maybe 9am whereas my friends tell me their babies wake up starving so I think he's missing out on a bottle somewhere along the line!!

Any tips on how I can change things and get him eating more and at better times?

Thanks

Mine is 14 weeks and wakes up twice a night to eat. I think there are more babies waking up at night than you know! HA! I'm hoping mine sleeps through the night by 6 months but I'm not pushing it. I have 'heard' 6 months is when most are sleeping through the night. Of course a buddy of mine just threw a party because her 14 month old finally slept through the night.

My baby is 14 weeks old and still wakes up every 3 hours to feed.  I try to feed him more at night so he will sleep longer - but it doesn't seems to work.

Don't worry. Just because one baby does or acts one way doesn't mean another will. If he's hungry he'll wake up for it, so the 6 hour stretch sounds completely normal. It's important that you don't overfeed him, and it's easy to do with bottle fed babies. Follow his cues. He'll let you know what he wants and when he wants it. It's exhausting at times, but as he grows older it'll change.

As for sleeping, it might work and it might not. Some sleep through the night early, others don't and even if they sleep through the night now they might not later. Some things you can try are to not let him nap late at night. The later he sleeps in the day the more likely it is that he'll wake up during the night. You can also try to wear him out during the day by playing and keeping his mind busy. Once again this might or might not work, and if it doesn't then it's just something you'll have to grit and bear. My baby didn't sleep at night for the first three months and was going to bed at 5-7am every morning. It drove me crazy, but after awhile she got into better sleep routines on her own.
