C-section pain

I had a c-section 5 months ago, but I still feel a little bit of pain. When my daughter was 2 months I went in to my doctor for the same reason and they said the pain was coming from the uterus. I still feel the pain in the same area, but now it's mostly in the middle. Is anyone experiencing this? Is it normal to still hurt or should I be concerned?

Hello -

A few things that might be causing your pain:  1)  you could have an internal hernia.  This is where some fat or other tissue could have gotten caught up in the internal c-sx scar.  This could cause pain - likely not dangerous unless you have other symptoms with it like persistent vomiting, blood in your stools, or fevers.  2)  you could have adhesions, which is scar tissue building up that could be causing the problem.

May want to discuss with your doctor.  An ultrasound does look for hernias, so if your ultrasound was normal, this may not be the cause.

In December, my doctor sent me out for an ultrasound and they told me that everything looked fine. I know when I had my first c-section I didn't have pain at 5 months after. I guess I just have to mention it to my doctor again. Thanks for the info!!

I dont think that is normal to have pain this far out. I had twins 2 months ago and no pain at all. I do feel some pressure when I lean against the crib and it rubs against it but that's all. I would either bring it up to your doctor again or get a second opinion. Perhaps your doctor might have done something wrong and is playing it off like it is nothing. Better safe then sorry! Keep us updated.
