Anyone got pregnant with Provera?

by RockyVT08, Nov 06, 2008 07:51PM
I was just diagnosed with PCOS this morning and the doctor gave me 3 months worth of Provera. He told me to start on cycle day 12 and take it for 10 days, and BD days 12, 14, and 16. Has anyone been successful with this method? I really want it to work, but I haven't heard of doing this before. I always hear about Clomid and Metaformin, but not Provera. Any advice?

Provera is just used to start ur period, or in my case try to stop it. Maybe he put u on because u dont get ur period on ur own?

I have no periods at all naturally. I was just surprised that this was the only thing he wanted to give me. I just want to get a rough idea of what our chances are of this being all I need. I dont want to get my hopes up. I'm getting help, but I dont know if it is enough.

Your doctor probably wants you to start having a period first, before giving u meds to help get pregnant. I dont beleive Provera will not help u get pregnant, you would need something like Clomid or if your overweight then maybe Metformin and Clomid. Good luck though.

Hi, my name is Liz.I'm so confused.I have pcos and in two weeks I'm starting Provera.I have to wait two weeks and take a pregnancy test. Then I'll start Provera.I go to the fertility doctor on the 8 of August but I'm worried that won't give me enough time to see if I get a period.

I just took provera (10mg for 10 days) and that started my period. If a home preggo test comes up negative ask them for a blood test and then take the provera.
